Migrant worker missing for three weeks in Putimari

Sanjoy Kumar Barman, Mathabhanga: Six months ago, 56-year-old Neelkanth Barman went to work as a construction worker in Kerala to support his poor family. On the 20th of last month, he left for home by train. But he got off the train for water at Chhatrapur station in Odisha state. As he could not board that train, he had to stay at the station. But two days later, the housekeeper went to the station and did not find him. The mobile phone is also switched off. It was not possible to contact him. After almost three weeks, no trace of his family is worried. The mysterious disappearance of this migrant worker has created a stir in Mathabhanga No. 1 Block Nayarhat gram Panchayat Putimari. Prashanta Barman, the son of the missing person, has already lodged a written complaint with the Mathabhanga police station regarding the disappearance. Birbal Barman, the grandfather of the missing person, said, “We are a lost family as our brother is missing.” If found, the family will benefit.
